Border guards rescued the crew of a vessel struck by a Russian drone in the Black Sea

On the night of July 22, servicemen of the State Border Guard Service’s Maritime Guard evacuated the crew of the bulk carrier Golden Rose, which had been struck by a Russian drone in the Black Sea.

After the drone struck the stern of the vessel, a massive fire broke out. Despite the darkness and the threat of further attacks, border guards approached the burning vessel and safely evacuated all crew members.

Sixteen sailors—two Syrian citizens and fourteen Egyptian citizens—were brought ashore. After a medical examination, it was determined that none of them had been injured.
