Weather forecast for April 2: Warm weather and occasional rain before a cold snap
Today, April 2, warm and humid weather with occasional rain is expected in Ukraine, according to forecasters. However, a cold snap is forecast to begin on April 7–8.
This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko.
Today, a humid air mass will prevail, bringing periodic precipitation. At the same time, in some regions, the rain may be light or may not even reach the ground.
“Where the rain hangs in the air and doesn’t reach the ground, the air will be wonderful to breathe—warm, spring-like, humid, and fresh,” the forecaster noted.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, fog is possible at night and in the morning in the southern regions, most of the central regions, as well as in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The wind will be predominantly northeasterly, 5-10 m/s.
Nighttime temperatures will range from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, and 2 to 7 degrees in the western regions. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 14 to 19 degrees Celsius.
In the Carpathians, light wet snow mixed with rain is forecast, with temperatures ranging from 0 to 5 degrees. In the capital, it will be cloudy with some sunny breaks, and light rain is possible in some areas. Nighttime temperatures will be 7–9 degrees, and daytime temperatures will be 17–19 degrees.

The meteorologist warned that the weather will remain warm on Palm Sunday, but most regions will experience a cold snap as early as next week.
After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.” Forecasters warn: nighttime frosts are possible at the beginning of the month, so it’s best to wait before planting vegetables and starting the early swimming season.
Overall, April 2026 in Ukraine will be a typical spring month—with alternating warm and cool periods, rain, and unstable temperatures. So, a sudden transition to summer is not expected just yet.
