The Rada summoned the head of the UCEA over the 13-hour National Multidisciplinary Test in Odesa

The Verkhovna Rada invited Tetiana Vakulenko, head of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment, to provide explanations regarding the administration of the National Multisubject Test.

The decision was supported by 239 members of parliament following a proposal by Roman Hryshchuk, a lawmaker from the Servant of the People faction. The UCEQA head’s appearance is scheduled for June 10.

The reason for the summons was an incident in Odesa, where, due to prolonged air raid alerts and organizational circumstances, some graduates remained at the testing center and took the NMT for 13 hours.

The MPs plan to seek clarification on the circumstances of the incident and to find out whether test-takers were offered the option to reschedule the exam for an additional session following the prolonged air raid alert.

In addition, lawmakers are interested in the overall conduct of the main NMT session amid constant air raid threats, as well as the position of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment regarding the retention of mathematics as a mandatory subject on the test.

Roman Hryshchuk emphasized that Ukrainian graduates are studying and taking exams under wartime conditions, so the testing procedure must take the security situation into account as much as possible.
