The Registry of Damages Caused by Russian Aggression Has Introduced New Categories of Claims

The Registry of Damages Caused to Ukraine by Russian Aggression has begun accepting claims in five additional categories—from legal entities and state and local government bodies.

This was reported by the Registry’s press service.

These are categories B1.1, B1.2, C1.1, and C1.2, which pertain to damage to or destruction of critical and non-critical infrastructure, as well as category C3.1—damage to, destruction of, or loss of assets.

“This is a fundamentally new stage in the Registry’s work. For the first time, the opening of these categories makes it possible to record not only individual losses but also systemic economic losses suffered by enterprises and the Ukrainian state as a result of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine,” the statement noted.

All legal entities, regardless of ownership form, may submit applications under Group C categories. Group B categories are intended for applications submitted on behalf of the state, state agencies, and local government bodies.

In categories related to infrastructure, applications may be submitted for compensation for the cost of damaged or destroyed facilities, as well as for repair costs, including future ones.

Applications are submitted via the “Diya” app by the heads of institutions, enterprises, or organizations, or by their authorized representatives.

Prior to this, the international registry of damages caused by the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine opened a new category of claims—A1.2. It concerns the forced displacement of citizens outside Ukraine as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.
