Russia Is Trying to Disrupt Ukraine's Land-Based Agricultural Exports — ISW

Russian forces have likely shifted their strike priorities and are attempting to disrupt not only maritime but also land-based exports of Ukrainian grain and other goods.

This is the conclusion reached by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to their data, one such target was a bridge in the village of Mayaki in the Odesa region, which crosses the Dniester River near the border with Moldova. Ukraine uses this route as one of its alternative export routes following restrictions on maritime transport.

The ISW notes that Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s export infrastructure since July 2026, seeking to weaken the Ukrainian economy.

As a reminder, the oilseed market in Ukraine has slumped following the attacks on ports.

Prices for cucumbers and vegetables used in borscht have fallen in Ukraine.
