The SBU and the police have uncovered eight schemes to evade mobilization across Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, has dismantled eight new channels used for illegal travel abroad and evasion of mobilization. As part of a special operation, 22 organizers of these schemes were detained; according to the investigation, they also sold fake medical certificates and provided information about checkpoints.

The special operations took place in several regions of the country, resulting in the detention of 22 organizers of illegal schemes, reports Censor.NET.

The price of the “services” depended on the complexity of the scheme and ranged from $3,500 to $20,000 per client. For this money, those subject to military conscription were either sold fake medical documents or helped to escape using “green paint.”

Kyiv Region: The deputy director general of the regional psychiatric and narcological hospital and the head of one of its departments were caught in the scheme. They enlisted a family doctor, arranged fictitious “inpatient treatment” for clients, and unjustifiably assigned them disability categories.

Bukovina: A local couple set up an entire network of 8 accomplices in cars and on motorcycles who transported evaders to the border via forest trails. The group included a law enforcement officer who promptly “leaked” information about the locations of border checkpoints.

Lviv Region: A local businessman and his son were notified of their status as suspects; through their connections in medical facilities, they issued fake disability certificates to clients. A surgeon was also detained for demanding money to extend an existing Group III disability status.

Cherkasy region: A woman was detained who, in collusion with doctors from the local Medical Examination Commission, sold fake medical reports declaring individuals unfit for military service.

Dnipropetrovsk Region: Two sisters enlisted doctors from several medical facilities in the region to write fictitious serious diagnoses on medical certificates to obtain disability status.

Vinnytsia: An official from a government agency was detained. He took bribes in exchange for promises to transfer men who had already been mobilized to rear units and arrange deferments for them.

Khmelnytskyi region: A 35-year-old man sold forged disability certificates, claiming he had “personal connections” at one of the hospitals to facilitate this.

Currently, all suspects have been notified of charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through a prior conspiracy by a group of individuals;
illegally transporting persons across the state border;
and abuse of influence.

The perpetrators face up to 9 years in prison with mandatory confiscation of property, according to the SBU.
