The High Command discussed accelerating the production of jet interceptors and strike systems
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, which focused primarily on the funding and support of the Defense Forces for the fall and winter period.
The meeting participants identified key shortfalls and resources needed for the development of advanced weaponry. Special attention was given to accelerating the production of Ukrainian strike weapons and new defensive systems, particularly jet-powered interceptor drones.
In addition, during the meeting:
- intelligence services reported on Russia’s plans, against which asymmetric countermeasures are being prepared;
- the results of long-range strikes on Russian targets and the impact of sanctions were analyzed;
- a report was heard from Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko;
- assessed the progress of targeted operations by special services against collaborators in the temporarily occupied territories, particularly in Sevastopol.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
As of August 14, Ukrainian manufacturers have begun combat testing of jet-powered interceptor drones designed to counter the new “Shahed” drones. Several companies have already developed their own solutions, and one of the developers is expected to report the first confirmed downings of enemy drones.
