Tishchenko was forcibly brought to court in Dnipro

On May 14, a hearing is underway at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Dnipro in the case of People’s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko. They are accused of the unlawful deprivation of liberty of Dmytro Mazokha, a former member of the “Kraken” unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

The day before, the court ruled to issue a warrant for Tyschenko’s arrest due to his failure to appear at previous hearings.

This was reported on May 14 by Yakov Slisarenko, a prosecutor with the Office of the Prosecutor General, to Suspilne.

Tyschenko has already been fined 3,328 hryvnias for this. However, he still failed to fulfill his procedural obligations regarding his appearance.

The second defendant, Bohdan Pysarenko, joined the hearing via video link along with his attorney, our correspondents reported.

The judge granted the prosecutor’s motion to extend the preventive measure in the form of a personal commitment for a period of 60 days for both defendants.

The victim, Dmytro Mazokha, noted: “Tyschenko and Pysarenko and their representatives are following a strategy of dragging out the trial. ‘We spent 45 minutes just considering one motion. This is their strategy; it’s a flaw in our Criminal Procedure Code that a person has committed a crime, and we’ve been waiting for two years for some kind of punishment for these people,” he said.

However, Dmytro is pleased that the MP was present at today’s hearing. “For me, it’s a cause for celebration that Mr. Mykola Tyschenko came to the city of Dnipro not only to beat me and my child, but also to answer for it. And he came to court in person—I think that’s very good. It’s a signal, I suppose, to all of society, to all defenders of the people, and to government officials. And he, after all, is a lawmaker, and he, more than anyone, must abide by all the laws. That’s why I’m glad to see him,” the victim added.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 18.

Based on materials from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced that he had notified incumbent MP Mykola Tyshchenko of his status as a suspect in the unlawful deprivation of liberty of a former serviceman in Dnipro. This was reported by the SBI on the morning of June 25.

Earlier, a video filmed in Dnipro was circulated on social media, showing people in khaki clothing and balaclavas detaining a man in civilian clothes on the street. As the police told Suspilne, the man in civilian clothes was detained and suffered bodily injuries. A video showing the start of the conflict has also emerged. It features Ukrainian MP Mykola Tyshchenko.

Online reports indicate that the man in civilian clothes is Dmytro Mazokha, who served in the Kraken special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. Subsequently, the Kraken special forces unit’s Telegram channel published a post confirming that the man in civilian clothes in the video is a former member of the special forces unit.

We previously reported that MP Tyshchenko would be working on Ukraine’s reconstruction.

As a reminder, Tishchenko is distributing food packages to pensioners under Chernovetskyi’s program.

MP Tishchenko also commented on the resignation of his godfather, Yermak.
