Trump realized that it is Putin who does not want to end the war — Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that U.S. President Donald Trump has come to realize that it is Russia that has no interest in ending the war, while Ukraine is striving to achieve peace.
In an interview with American blogger Lori Lumer, Zelenskyy noted that there had previously been claims about Ukraine’s alleged unwillingness to end hostilities; however, he said, Trump has now understood Kyiv’s true position.
The president emphasized that Ukraine wants victory, but above all values the lives of its citizens. He said that if the war could be stopped tomorrow through a ceasefire, that would be a better option than years of fighting with heavy human casualties.
Zelenskyy also stated that, in his opinion, Donald Trump has begun to trust him more, and that is precisely what has led to the change in tone in their communication.
