Zelenskyy held a meeting with the new government on defense, the economy, and diplomacy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with members of the newly formed Cabinet of Ministers, during which they discussed key priorities in the areas of defense, the economy, and diplomacy for August and the coming months.

According to the head of state, special attention was paid to the protection of critical infrastructure, the energy sector, the fuel market, the agricultural sector, and Ukrainian grain exports. Zelenskyy emphasized that strengthening air defense remains a priority, particularly the prompt implementation of agreements regarding the supply of missiles for the Patriot systems.

The President also announced that, together with the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense, further actions by Ukrainian forces in the Black Sea have been determined. At the same time, the government has been tasked with preparing a package of decisions with international partners to protect the economy and ensure the functioning of the maritime corridor.

Separately, Zelenskyy thanked EU countries for their willingness to expand cross-border cooperation and announced that Rustem Umerov had been given additional tasks regarding cooperation with partners in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed laws extending martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days. The new term begins on August 2, so both measures will remain in effect at least until October 31, 2026.
