Ukraine has asked the U.S. to expedite the delivery of missiles for the Patriot systems

Ukraine called on the U.S. to expedite the delivery of missiles for the Patriot system, specifically the PAC-3 and PAC-2 GEM-T. The parties also discussed the localization of missile production and cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara following talks with U.S. partners. According to him, despite advances in drone technology, network-centric operations, and ground-based robotic systems, Ukraine’s primary need remains the strengthening of its air defense.

“The critical need remains the same—protecting our skies. I requested that the delivery of PAC-3 and PAC-2 GEM-T interceptor missiles be expedited as much as possible to counter Russian ballistic missiles. The rapid delivery of these missiles saves the lives of Ukrainians, protects our cities, and sustains our defense industry,” Khmara stated.

In addition, he said, the parties discussed launching joint production and localizing missiles for Patriot systems within the framework of agreements between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.

Special attention was paid during the talks to cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. Khmara emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share with the United States its experience in waging modern technological warfare and developing drone technologies.
