Ukraine will have drones with a range of up to 10,000 kilometers next year — Zelenskyy
Ukraine plans to acquire drones capable of flying 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers as early as next year. At the same time, Kyiv is working with the United States on a large-scale agreement for the joint production of drones.
According to the head of state, Ukraine and Russia already have drones with a range of over 3,000 kilometers. By the end of this year, Ukraine plans to increase this range to 4,000 kilometers, and by 2027—to 5,000–10,000 kilometers.
“Right now, both the Russians and we already have drones with a range of over 3,000 kilometers. This year, we’ll reach 4,000 kilometers. Next year—from 5,000 to 10,000,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also announced that Ukraine and the U.S. are working on a large-scale “Drone Deal” agreement, which provides for the joint production of drones on U.S. territory. According to him, the first phase of the agreement has already been implemented, and the document for the next phase is nearly ready for signing.
In addition, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is sharing its combat experience with the U.S. in the use of maritime, aerial, and long-range drones.
He also emphasized that drone technology is developing rapidly, so new models appear every three to six months. Because of this, according to the president, drones need to be produced continuously rather than stockpiled in warehouses.
