In Chernihiv, a college director falsely registered conscripts
The Novozavodsk District Court of Chernihiv found the director of the separate structural unit “Vocational College of Economics and Technology of the National University ‘Chernihiv Polytechnic’” guilty of official forgery. According to the court, the official helped men of draft age obtain deferments from mobilization by issuing fictitious documents.
According to case file No. 751/4895/26, the director hired one conscript as the head of a training workshop, although in reality this appointment was made to avoid mobilization.
In addition, 17 men of draft age were enrolled in the college’s full-time program; according to the investigation’s findings, they had no intention of pursuing an education but used their student status solely to obtain an illegal deferment from conscription.
During the trial, the defendant fully admitted his guilt and agreed with the established facts of the case.
According to him, enrolling students in contract-based programs was intended to improve the educational institution’s material and technical resources.
The court found the director guilty under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official forgery).
He was fined 68,000 hryvnias and barred for one year from holding positions involving organizational, managerial, administrative, or economic functions.
The verdict was handed down on July 17, 2026.
Earlier, an organized group was uncovered in Kyiv and Lviv that had been illegally employing men subject to military service as teachers at a private educational institution for over two years. In this way, approximately 200 men attempted to obtain a deferment from mobilization. Eight participants in the scheme were detained as part of the investigation.
