A large-scale operation against fraudulent call centers is underway in Dnipro and the surrounding region — UANews

On August 11, law enforcement officials in Dnipro and the surrounding region are conducting large-scale searches and arrests as part of an operation against fraudulent call centers. UA.News reports this, citing its own sources within law enforcement agencies.

These are so-called “offices” whose operators, according to preliminary data, defrauded citizens of EU countries. Law enforcement officials are conducting searches at a number of addresses and detaining individuals involved in the case.

This is already the second wave of large-scale operations against a network of fraudulent call centers in the region.

We are awaiting official details from law enforcement.

Earlier in Kyiv, fraudulent call centers featuring Russian symbols and portraits of Putin were uncovered.

As a reminder, in late June of this year, prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office charged six Kyiv residents with organizing a fraudulent scheme to sell counterfeit Polish driver’s licenses through specially created websites.

A new scam has emerged in Ukraine in which fraudsters pose as law enforcement officers and accuse their victims of treason.

We have also previously reported that the State Tax Service has exposed scammers who send out fake emails containing viruses.
