A student who was injured in the shelling on June 2 has died in Kyiv
Iryna Zabudko, a student at the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University in Kyiv, died at a hospital in the capital after sustaining serious injuries from enemy shelling on the night of June 2.
Doctors fought to save the young woman’s life for over a week and performed the necessary resuscitation procedures.
Despite all efforts and the professional care of the doctors, the victim’s heart stopped due to injuries that were incompatible with life.
Her professor, Vsevolod Zelenin, Ph.D. in Psychology, officially announced the tragic news on his social media page. He expressed his deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, and classmates of the deceased student.
The death of Iryna Zabudko was an irreparable loss for the entire academic community of Mykhailo Dragomanov University. Faculty and students remember her as a talented, determined, and sincere young woman who had big plans for the future.
The Russian attack has once again taken the life of a representative of Ukrainian youth who was pursuing an education and striving to develop her country.
University professor Vsevolod Zelenin shared the pain of the loss and noted that until the very last moment, everyone had hoped for the student’s recovery. Colleagues and friends supported the family while the young woman was in the hospital.
“We all believed, hoped, prayed, and waited for a miracle. Unfortunately, today Iryna’s heart stopped. It is hard to find words when such a young, bright, and beautiful person passes away. It is especially painful to realize how many plans, dreams, and opportunities have remained unfulfilled,” the professor wrote.
