The NABU's extradition request for Mindich was amended to address the deficiencies

Ukraine has officially requested that the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel extradite suspects in a large-scale corruption case in the energy sector.

This was stated in a comment to Censor.NET by Mariana Hayovska-Kovbasyuk, head of the Information Policy and Communications Department at the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The request concerns businessmen Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukruman, who are defendants in a NABU case regarding abuses in a strategic sector.

The process of preparing the documents took some time due to the need to correct procedural errors.

According to Mariana Hayovska-Kovbasyuk, the initial materials from the anti-corruption agencies required substantial revision.

Through the joint efforts of prosecutors and NABU investigators, a vast body of evidence was compiled.

“As part of the working process, the Office of the Prosecutor General, together with NABU, reviewed and supplemented 24 volumes of materials, as well as prepared and translated the text of the request,” explained Hayovska-Kovbasyuk.

After a final review and translation of all materials into Hebrew, the documents were finally handed over to the Israeli side.

“After the final correction of deficiencies and errors, the extradition request was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel,” added the agency representative.

According to the investigation, Mindich and Tsukremann may have been involved in schemes that caused significant losses to the state budget.

Since the suspects have left the country, their return to Ukraine for trial is a priority for law enforcement.

As a reminder, NABU confirmed that Mindich had planned his escape from Ukraine in advance.

Mindich, a suspect in the “Energoatom” case, may be involved in the procurement of substandard body armor for the military.

Who is Timur Mindich and why is he involved in NABU cases?

Timur Mindich, a suspect in a corruption investigation, likely also had influence over Rustem Umerov, the former defense minister.

NABU conducted searches at the home of Mindich, a co-owner of “Kvartal 95.”

The head of the Economic Security Bureau, Oleksandr Tsivinsky, commented on reports of possible involvement by Economic Security Bureau employees in compiling “dossiers” on individuals implicated in the “Mindichgate” case. According to him, an investigation into this matter was launched immediately.
