In Lviv, a construction hoist carrying three construction workers fell from the 15th floor
An accident occurred at a private construction site on Ocheretna Street in Lviv, resulting in the deaths of three workers. While facade work was being carried out on the 15th floor, a construction lift carrying workers broke loose. According to preliminary information from law enforcement, two of the victims were Turkish citizens and one was a Ukrainian citizen.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police and Prosecutor’s Office.
The tragedy occurred around 2:00 p.m. All three men died at the scene from their injuries before medical personnel arrived. Currently, the construction site is cordoned off, and an investigative team and experts are working there to determine the causes of the hoist malfunction.
Law enforcement agencies have already opened a criminal investigation into the violation of safety regulations during high-risk work. If the investigation finds that officials responsible for safety at the site are at fault, they face severe punishment under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The circumstances of the incident are still being determined.
The State Labor Service reported the number of Ukrainians who died in workplace accidents over the past year.
In the Polish city of Łódź, an elevator carrying two workers from Ukraine who were painting a shaft fell from the 15th floor. Both Ukrainians, aged 41 and 42, were hospitalized, one of them in serious condition.
