In Lviv, an employee of the Frankivsk District Administration received a reprimand for using an AI-generated photo in a response to a resident regarding tree trimming.
This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
The incident occurred after an image from the “City Hotline” was shared on social media, showing a photo of a tree with completely pruned branches as proof of the work performed. It later turned out that the image was not real.
According to Halyna Narivna, head of the Frankivsk District Administration, the contractor sent the administration a visualization intended to explain why such radical pruning should not be carried out. However, an employee mistakenly interpreted this image as confirmation of the work performed and used it in the response.
As a result, she received a reprimand.
Regarding the resident’s complaint, specialists from the Ecology Department will soon inspect the tree together with the contractor to determine the feasibility and safety of the work.
The city council noted that this is the first such case in the service’s entire history.
