Bicycle, motorcycle, and horseback patrols are returning to cities across Ukraine
In Kyiv and a number of other Ukrainian cities, bicycle, motorcycle, and horseback patrols are returning to the streets; they will operate in parks, public squares, along waterfronts, and in recreational areas. The aim is to increase police presence in areas where rapid response and mobility are crucial, according to .
Starting today, patrol officers on motorcycles and horses will be visible in the capital’s central districts, parks, and public spaces, where they will patrol the areas and maintain order. Separately, bicycle patrols have already begun operating in Khmelnytskyi, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv, and Zhytomyr, and starting in late May, they will be joined by Rivne, Odesa, Chernihiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Motorcycle patrols will operate in several cities this season, including Rivne, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Odesa, Izmail, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia. These units allow for faster movement through the city, bypassing traffic jams and responding promptly to calls.

Horseback patrols will continue to operate in parks and recreational areas that are difficult to reach by car, and will be able to quickly respond to violations or assist citizens when needed.
Police note that bicycle and motorcycle patrols will be the first to respond to traffic accidents involving victims, as their high mobility allows them to quickly arrive at the scene and provide first aid before the main patrol units arrive.
In the Volyn region, law enforcement officers uncovered a scheme involving the illegal import of passenger cars under the guise of humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
