Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President, appears in the so-called “Mindich tapes” under the pseudonym “The Surgeon,” not “Ali Baba,” as previously believed.
This was stated by Alexander Abakumov, the lead investigator in the case, in an interview with the YouTube channel “Do You Have a Question?”
According to him, pseudonyms are used in the materials, and one of them may refer to Yermak.
He noted that he knows this person specifically under the alias “Surgeon,” hinting at a connection to the Office of the President.
At the same time, regarding the alias “Ali Baba,” the detective advised contacting the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Abakumov also explained that a sufficient body of evidence is required to announce charges, especially when it comes to high-ranking officials.
According to him, such individuals have significant resources at their disposal for their defense—in particular, they can hire lawyers and consultants and launch media campaigns.
NABU has published new audio recordings as part of the “Midas” investigation, which reveal a large-scale kickback scheme in the energy sector.
As a reminder, Galushchenko was ordered to post bail of 200 million hryvnias.
Additionally, Galushchenko’s influential “godfathers” may have funded the former minister’s lavish lifestyle.
Former Minister Galushchenko received over $9 million in “salary” payments into his Swiss bank accounts.
