One of the passengers struck the 36-year-old woman on the back of the head, and a few hours later she began to feel ill—medical professionals diagnosed her with a concussion and hospitalized her. Police are searching for the man who struck her.
The incident occurred on September 9 at around 2:00 p.m. on Soborna Street in Rivne, near the Pokrovsky Cathedral. The ticket inspector was checking passengers’ fares when a verbal altercation broke out between her and several people. During the altercation, one of the passengers struck the woman on the back of the head with his hand. According to police, the man’s identity remains unknown, and law enforcement officials have begun investigating who exactly delivered the blow.
At first, the woman did not seek medical help. However, a few hours later, her condition worsened. She sought medical attention and was subsequently admitted to the hospital. Doctors have preliminarily diagnosed the 36-year-old ticket inspector with a closed head injury and a concussion. She is currently under medical supervision.
Police are searching for the assailant
Law enforcement officials have already launched a pre-trial investigation. The incident has been preliminarily classified under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional infliction of minor bodily injury. Police are now identifying all those involved in the altercation and attempting to locate the passenger who struck the ticket inspector. Law enforcement is also working to determine the full circumstances of the dispute and what exactly led up to the assault.
