A kindergarten in Vinnytsia damaged by a Russian attack is being restored with support from UNICEF
Renovation work is underway in Vinnytsia on Kindergarten No. 13, "Lastivka," which was damaged during a Russian drone attack in March.
This was reported by the Vinnytsia City Council.
The repair work is being carried out with co-funding from UNICEF and the Vinnytsia community budget.
As a result of the blast wave, the building’s window frames were damaged and the glass was shattered. Currently, old structures are being dismantled at the facility, and new window units with multi-layered laminated glass and a special protective film—which holds shards in place in case of damage—are being installed.
City officials noted that such windows also better retain heat and reduce external noise, which is important for the children’s comfort.
As of now, about 40% of the planned work has been completed. Installation of new windows has already been completed on the first floor, while work continues on the second floor. After that, specialists will restore four stained-glass structures.
They plan to complete the repairs and return the children to the renovated premises by the end of June.
