In Zaporizhzhia, Russian agents carried out a series of arson attacks over the course of nine days

In Zaporizhzhia, law enforcement officers uncovered a group of arsonists who, according to police, had been recruited by Russian intelligence services. Over the course of nine days, they carried out five arson attacks on administrative buildings; another attempt was thwarted.

According to police, the targeted facilities included a bank building, a civil registry office, and a branch of the State Special Communications Service.

Law enforcement officials claim that the recruitment took place via social media and dating sites. The perpetrators used fake accounts and then, posing as SBU employees, persuaded young people to carry out the arson attacks.

Police reported that those detained are predominantly men born in 2000, and there is also a military servicemember among them. In total, 12 arson attacks on military vehicles and administrative buildings have been recorded in Zaporizhzhia since the beginning of the year.
