Ukraine has officially appealed to Israel, demanding that it take action regarding the vessel PANORMITIS, which, according to the investigation, may be transporting grain illegally exported from the occupied territories.
This was reported by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
The Office of the Prosecutor General has initiated the arrest of the vessel and its cargo under international legal assistance. The relevant request has already been forwarded to the Israeli side.
Ukraine is requesting that the vessel and cargo be seized, searches be conducted, documentation be seized, grain samples be taken, and the crew be questioned.
According to the investigation, the grain was transported after being transshipped from another vessel and may originate from the temporarily occupied territories. The vessel is currently heading to the port of Haifa.
Law enforcement officials have also documented the vessel’s illegal entries into closed Ukrainian ports, which constitutes a violation of national legislation and international maritime law.
Sybiga emphasized that this is not a matter of public statements, but of an official legal inquiry that requires a substantive response from the Israeli side.
