Ukraine has reduced its grain exports in the new season
Ukraine recorded a decline in exports of grains and legumes during the 2025/26 marketing year. Total exports amounted to 32.8 million tons, which is 5.4 million tons (or 14%) less than in the previous season. At the same time, the decline in shipments for certain crops was significantly steeper—in some cases, volumes fell by a factor of ten, and in one instance, by a factor of 54.

Specifically, 12.3 million tons of wheat were exported. This is 2.5 million tons (17%) less than the previous volume.
Barley exports amounted to about 1.5 million tons, which is 36% less than the previous season.
Ukraine exported about 0.2 thousand tons of rye. This is 54 times less than the previous volume, which was 10.8 thousand tons.
Corn exports totaled 18.6 million tons, which is 9% less than shipments in the previous season.
Flour exports from Ukraine totaled 56,300 tons, which is 13% less than last year’s figure.
Hungary has lifted some restrictions on Ukrainiangrain.
Earlier, the Hungarian government commented on the massive attack by Russian drones on Zakarpattia, during which the region’s critical infrastructure was struck. Budapest described the situation in the border region as extremely alarming and announced that it was preparing urgent countermeasures.
