Ukraine and Azerbaijan Will Strengthen Cooperation in the Field of Law Enforcement
Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vygivsky held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov. The two sides discussed further deepening their partnership in the field of law enforcement.
According to Vygivskyi, the key areas of cooperation include combating organized and transnational crime, cybersecurity, fighting fraud, and strengthening practical cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
“We discussed our partnership in the law enforcement sphere. The key areas of cooperation are combating organized and transnational crime, cybersecurity, and the fight against fraud, as well as strengthening practical cooperation,” Vygivsky said.
During the conversation, the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs also briefed his Azerbaijani counterpart on the current situation in Ukraine, particularly regarding the latest Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure and attacks on the civilian population.
Separately, the parties discussed joint humanitarian initiatives in the areas of healthcare, rehabilitation, and social support for the families of Ukrainian defenders.
Vygivsky thanked Azerbaijan for its support of Ukraine and its assistance to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“In the past year alone, the Republic of Azerbaijan has hosted two groups of high school students from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The students had the opportunity to learn about the country’s culture and history and broaden their horizons. In recent years, our units have also received humanitarian demining equipment and technology from Azerbaijan that ensures uninterrupted operations during power outages,” the minister noted.
He expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for its support of Ukraine and assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to strengthen their bilateral partnership.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara held talks with the heads of the defense ministries of Sweden, Paul Jonsson, and Norway, Tore Sandvik.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, during which the parties discussed the development of security cooperation.
