A Ukrainian company was among the top three winners of a NATO competition
A Ukrainian company was named one of the three winners of a NATO competition to identify technologies capable of ensuring the long-term neutralization of enemy airfields. The development was ranked among the best solutions in the Alliance’s competition.
“Companies from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Ukraine emerged as winners of the Persistent Airfield Denial (Persistent Blockade of Enemy Airfields), organized by NATO’s Transformation Command and the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Center (JATEC),” according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense.
First place went to the Czech team LPP Holding, which presented a long-range solution designed to operate with minimal reliance on external control.
Second place was awarded to innovators from Poland for a comprehensive proposal for the pre-planned destruction of elements of the enemy’s airfield infrastructure.
Third place went to developers from Ukraine, who proposed an artificial intelligence module for target acquisition. The solution is intended to increase the autonomy and accuracy of strike systems.
It is noted that the organizers received over 60 applications for the competition. During the challenge finals in Warsaw (Poland), nine teams presented their solutions.
The panel of experts and jury members from Ukraine included representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, specifically the Air Force Command, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the “Omega” unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, and other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. On behalf of NATO, the finalists’ proposals were evaluated by representatives of the Alliance’s commands, as well as the NATO Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIANA).
The next stage will involve testing and combat trials of the solutions, which will allow for an assessment of their effectiveness and potential for further scaling.
