Ukrnafta is installing concrete shelters at gas stations in Kyiv and the surrounding region
Ukrnafta has begun installing concrete shelters at gas stations in Kyiv and the Kyiv region due to regular Russian attacks. These protective structures will be available to employees, gas station customers, and all passersby in the vicinity. This was announced by Bohdan Kukura, chairman of the board of JSC “Ukrnafta.”
In the first phase, 13 gas stations located in densely populated areas and near major highways will be equipped with these protective structures. Such measures have previously proven effective in frontline regions, which is why they are now being scaled up to the Kyiv region.

In addition, gabions have already been installed at 25 of the company’s facilities in the capital region. Last week, one of these protective barriers withstood an impact at a gas station in Kyiv, which helped contain the explosion and reduce the risk of debris to pedestrians and motorists.
The company also reminded the public that during a yellow or red air raid alert, gas stations cease operations, and staff and visitors must immediately leave the premises and move to a safe location.
