Ukrposhta has issued a stamp to mark the anniversary of Antonov Design Bureau

The national postal operator, JSC "Ukrposhta," has officially released a new stamp set titled "80 Years of JSC 'Antonov': Ukraine's Design Power" for philatelic circulation. A special cancellation ceremony took place on June 2, 2026, in the aviation training hangar of the State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute.”

The event was attended by the company’s CEO, Ihor Smilianskyi, and legendary Ukrainian test pilot and Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Halunenko, who was the first to fly the An-225 “Mriya” and has set over 260 world records.

The artwork for the commemorative issue was designed by renowned Ukrainian illustrator Andriy Yermolenko. The postage stamp depicts the complete history of Ukrainian aircraft manufacturing through the figure of the design bureau’s founder, Oleg Antonov, his drawings, and his personal signature. Depicted alongside are the company’s iconic aircraft models: from the first gliders to the world-famous transport giants An-124 “Ruslan,” An-225 “Mriya,” and the modern An-178. The figures of a girl holding a blueprint and a boy launching a model airplane symbolize the continuity of generations that will continue to develop the Ukrainian aviation industry.

For the set’s art card, the artist created a special composition—the flight of the restored “Mriya” in the peaceful sky above the blooming gardens and native fields of Ukraine.

Technical specifications and print runs of the new philatelic issues:

  • Postage stamp: print run of 400,000 copies (issued in sheets of 4 stamps), face value — F (corresponds to the postage rate for a domestic registered letter).

  • Postal block: an exclusive limited edition with a print run of only 4,200 copies, face value — P.

  • Additional items: the special set, priced at 222 hryvnias, also includes a “First Day” cover and an art card, each issued in a print run of 15,000 copies.

Collectors and anyone interested can now purchase the commemorative aviation stamp, envelopes, and cards at physical Ukrposhta branches, specialized philatelic shops, and on the official online platform “Ukrposhta.Market.”
