Ukrzaliznytsia is changing its approach to setting ticket prices for SV (luxury) and first-class cars on Intercity trains.
This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.
Starting April 25, ticket prices in the premium segment will be determined using dynamic pricing.
The price will be influenced by seasonality, day of the week, how far in advance the ticket is purchased, and train occupancy. The cheapest tickets are expected on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while prices will be highest on Fridays and Sundays.
Passengers will also be encouraged to buy tickets in advance—this will help them save money.
At the same time, fares in SV-class cars on international trains will increase by approximately 20% for trips starting April 18.
The company notes that the changes will affect less than 10% of passengers and will not impact prices in compartment cars or most other categories.
Ukrzaliznytsia has also announced schedule changes and additional trips for passengers. Some trains will begin running on a new schedule, and new stops will be added to routes. This applies, in particular, to commuter services between the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia has launched online sales of discounted student tickets.
