Prices for milk, eggs, and buckwheat have changed in Ukrainian supermarkets
Popular Ukrainian supermarket chains have reported significant price fluctuations for basic food items.
As of June 24, some popular items, such as milk and eggs, have become cheaper, while prices for sunflower oil have remained stable.
The latest monitoring data reflect the new pricing realities at the country’s largest retail outlets.
In the bakery products category, the main positive change affected shoppers at the “Auchan” chain.
The retailer has brought back the significantly cheaper “Formula Smaku” sliced white wheat bread (350 grams) to its shelves at a price of 14.50 hryvnia.
Previously, the lowest price for half a loaf of wheat bread at this chain was 21.30 hryvnia. At other major supermarkets, such as “Silpo,” ATB, and Novus, bread prices remained largely unchanged.
The situation in the grain market continues to show stability, and the “Silpo” chain has become the leader in terms of buckwheat affordability.
Thanks to its own budget line, the supermarket maintains a record low of 15.69 hryvnia per kilogram.
At the same time, in other popular retail chains, the price per kilogram of buckwheat still significantly exceeds 65 hryvnias.
In the chicken egg segment, trends vary depending on the specific retailer. The “Auchan” chain, which previously sold the cheapest eggs by the piece, raised the price from 2.90 to 3.10 hryvnia per egg.
In contrast, at Novus and Silpo supermarkets, the price of eggs sold in packs of ten has decreased. For example, at Silpo, a dozen of the higher-quality variety now costs 48.24 hryvnia instead of the previous 52.28 hryvnia.
Analysts also noted certain changes while monitoring prices for dairy products. The ATB retail chain lowered the price of a 450-gram carton of pasteurized milk to 20.30 hryvnia, reducing the price by one hryvnia.
In other major Ukrainian supermarkets, the price of a similar-sized carton of milk ranges from 21.49 to 21.90 hryvnia.
Prices for sunflower oil in 0.5-liter bottles have remained virtually unchanged over the past 24 hours. The only exception was “Auchan,” where its private-label product saw a slight price increase of 10 kopecks—to 48.10 hryvnia.
The most expensive products in this segment remain those of the “Oleina” brand at Novus stores, where a bottle costs 71.94 hryvnia.
