The High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the detention of Serhiy Kropiva, an official with the Office of the Prosecutor General
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the pretrial measure imposed on Serhiy Kropiva, deputy head of the Department of International Cooperation at the Office of the Prosecutor General—detention, with the alternative of posting 120 million hryvnias in bail. The defense and the suspect requested that the arrest be lifted or the bail reduced to 2 million hryvnias, arguing that there was no risk of flight.
According to a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), the investigation established that assets worth over 80 million hryvnias were laundered between 2023 and 2026 through cash, sole proprietorships, cryptocurrency, and an investment fund. In addition, the case file contains information on 505 call centers, which, according to the prosecution, were “protected” by the defendants, a scheme that could have generated up to $3.5 million per month.
The prosecution also emphasized the risks of Kropiva going into hiding, concealing evidence, and influencing witnesses, citing recorded conversations about the use of operational passes and the possibility of arranging a border crossing. In addition, the prosecution refuted Kropiva’s claim that he was on a business trip at the time of his arrest on September 4.

Prosecutor Kropiva, a figure in the NABU investigation, secured a pension of 300,000 at the age of 42 through the courts.
Earlier, it was reported that NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are conducting a large-scale special operation at the Office of the Prosecutor General regarding a case of possible “protection” of fraudulent call centers.
Prosecutor General Kravchenko disappeared after the NABU and SAP operation began. According to sources in political circles interviewed by UP, Kravchenko drove into the government quarter, after which no one saw him.
Later, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko was located and stated that he had no connection whatsoever to the cover-up of illegal call centers and had not given any instructions to facilitate their operations.
Prior to this, during a court hearing, Serhiy Kropiva commented on the recordings contained in the criminal case file. He stated that he did not recognize the phrases spoken in them as his own and assured the court that he had “fought against evil his entire life.”
