Video: A 58-year-old drug dealer was arrested in the Lviv region with 7 million hryvnias' worth of cocaine
Law enforcement officers detained a resident of the Lviv region who is suspected of organizing the wholesale distribution of cocaine and preparing to engage in illegal arms trafficking.
According to police, the 58-year-old man received large shipments of drugs from abroad, packaged them, and planned to sell them. He hid the latest shipment of cocaine in an old tree stump in the forest.
During a search of the hiding place, law enforcement officers discovered nearly a kilogram of cocaine—643.25 grams of pure substance. The value of the seized drugs, based on black market prices, is estimated at nearly 7 million hryvnias.
During 12 searches of residences, vehicles, and non-residential premises, officers also seized a pistol, magazines, two grenade fuses, over 500 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, and other weapons.
In addition, police discovered small-scale workshops for the production of tobacco products. There, they found equipment, raw materials, over 1,200 packs of finished products, and records detailing production, buyers, and funds received.
The suspect has been charged with illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons. He is being held in custody without the right to bail.
