Zelenskyy honored Sweden's finance minister, who has consistently supported Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Swedish Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson the Order of Princess Olga, Third Class. Decree No. 915/2026 was signed in recognition of her significant personal contributions to strengthening the Ukrainian-Swedish partnership and her consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Swedish government official has consistently advocated for expanding defense and financial aid to Ukraine; in particular, she participated in the presentation of a three-year support program worth 75 billion Swedish kronor. She is also an active advocate for using the frozen assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to compensate for losses and provide Ukraine with a “reparations loan” of 185 billion euros.
This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 915/2026.
Prior to this, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees No. 317/2026 and No. 318/2026 awarding state honors to more than 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen, some of whom received the awards posthumously.
In addition, Zelenskyy awarded scholarships to the children of slain journalists.
Zelenskyy honored 34 Ukrainians on Volunteer Day.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 362 military personnel with state awards, 176 of them posthumously. The awards were granted for courage, dedication, and the defense of the country’s sovereignty. Among the honors are orders, medals, and the “Cross of Military Merit.”
