The Cabinet of Ministers submitted the 2027 draft state budget to the Verkhovna Rada

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted a draft law on the 2027 state budget to the Verkhovna Rada. Information regarding the document’s registration has already appeared on the parliament’s website. However, as of 9:40 p.m., the text of the bill itself is not yet publicly available. The Verkhovna Rada’s website states that the document has been forwarded to the leadership for review.
As in previous years, funding for the security and defense sector is expected to remain one of the budget’s main priorities.
The government prepared the budget in advance
The government began discussing the preparation of the 2027 state budget as early as late July. At that time, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced that the Cabinet of Ministers had already begun work on the document. According to him, the government was required to submit the draft budget to the Verkhovna Rada by the deadline set by law—September 15. “The government’s task is to submit the draft state budget to the Verkhovna Rada by the deadline set by law—September 15,” Koretskyi stated.
The draft has now been officially submitted to parliament. The prime minister also noted that while preparing the document, the government must focus on several key objectives. These include strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, maintaining financial stability, and implementing a well-thought-out social policy.
