A military official forged documents related to equipment repairs and caused 650 thousand UAH in losses
The head of the military equipment service at one of the units signed fictitious acceptance reports for the repair of combat vehicles that had not actually been repaired.
As a result of the official’s unlawful actions, 650,000 hryvnias were unjustifiably transferred from the state budget to a contractor.
The deputy commander of a tank battalion in charge of armaments has already been notified that he is suspected of abuse of office and official forgery.
According to the Mariupol Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense in the Eastern Region, the incident occurred in late 2024.

At that time, the military unit entered into an official contract with an individual entrepreneur for the routine maintenance of six vehicles.
These vehicles were on the unit’s roster and were actively used to carry out combat and special missions in the Donetsk region.
The deadline for completing the work, as specified in the agreement, was December 24, 2024. However, the investigation found that the contractor had not actually performed the repairs, leaving the vehicles in poor condition.

Although the military official was well aware that the vehicles had not been repaired, he knowingly committed the offense and certified the documentation.
The official signed six acceptance certificates for the services rendered, which served as the legal basis for the transfer of funds.
“This falsification of documentation resulted in 650,000 hryvnias being unjustifiably transferred from the budget to the contractor. This was not done by accident, as the military official was well aware that the equipment had not been repaired,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs in the Eastern Region.
