An FSB agent who was passing on information about air defense systems and defense facilities was exposed in Odesa
The Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent who, according to the investigation, was recruited after the start of the full-scale war. The suspect turned out to be a former Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemember who had been discharged in 2005 and was living in a port city.
According to the SBU, the suspect made contact with a former subordinate who currently commands a battalion within a Russian motorized rifle brigade fighting in the Pokrovsk direction.
During their conversation, he offered to help carry out missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities. Afterward, the Russian side passed the information on to the FSB, which placed the man under surveillance.
After being recruited, he was tasked with gathering data on:
- the positions of air defense units in the Odesa region
- the locations of defense industry enterprises, particularly drone manufacturers
- the movement of military forces in the coastal zone
- schedules for ships entering the Port of Odesa
As the investigation established, the agent used his connections among former and current military personnel to obtain intelligence.
Upon identifying targets, he conducted follow-up reconnaissance directly in the field using his own vehicle.
The SBU documented his activities at an early stage and took measures to protect Ukrainian facilities.
Subsequently, the suspect was detained at his residence and charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason under martial law).
He is currently being held in custody without the right to bail.

This is stated in a press release from the SBU.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was actively tracking the positions of the Defense Forces and transmitting the geographic coordinates of Ukrainian units to the enemy.
Schemes involving the forgery of documents to evade military service were uncovered in Kyiv.
In Kyiv, the organizer of drug parties where guests were required to change clothes was detained.
