Drivers can choose their preferred license plate number when renewing their vehicle registration online
Ukrainian drivers can now choose their own license plates with their preferred combination of numbers directly when ordering the service to replace or renew their vehicle registration certificate.
This option is now available in the online Driver’s Account, which significantly simplifies the process of personalizing a vehicle.
This service is available not only to citizens who wish to replace their license plates but also to owners whose documents have been lost or damaged.
The service is also available in any other situations where the law requires the issuance of a new vehicle registration certificate.
To select a “custom” license plate number, you must log in to the Driver’s Portal using ID.GOV.UA or through the “Diya.Signature” system.
After selecting the “Renewal and Replacement of Vehicle Registration Certificate” section, the user must activate the license plate replacement option.
The system will automatically display a list of available number combinations, which is updated in real time.
This allows the driver to instantly check whether the selected combination is available and immediately complete the application for the service.
The cost of custom license plates varies significantly depending on the demand for a specific combination and the vehicle category. Prices for such plates range from 4,800 to 96,000 hryvnias.
In addition to paying for the selected number combination, the car owner must account for the administrative service fees charged by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ service center.
There is also an additional fee for the new registration certificate form and the production of the metal license plates themselves.
