Another 13 children have been returned from the temporarily occupied Kherson region
The evacuation of 5 girls and 8 boys aged 3 to 17, including one child without parental care, was successfully carried out as part of the presidential initiative “Bring Kids Back UA.”
While under occupation, the minors were subjected to pressure and threats from the Russian Federation: teenagers were forced to register for military service and trained at military training grounds, and some children were intimidated with the threat of execution by Russian soldiers dressed in Ukrainian uniforms.
The return of these Ukrainian citizens was facilitated by the charity “Save Ukraine.” Currently, all the children are safe and undergoing reintegration at the “Hope and Recovery” centers. There, the evacuees are provided with necessary psychological support, safe shelter, medical care, and assistance with restoring their documents.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe condemned the illegal transfer of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories to Russia and called on Moscow to immediately cease this practice.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially confirmed its intention to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, expanding the coalition’s membership to 50 countries. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga announced this decision.
