Five people drowned in Ukraine over the past 24 hours

Five people died in Ukrainian bodies of water over the past 24 hours, according to rescue workers. Specifically, the bodies of two men were recovered from the Dnipro River in Kyiv. Another tragic incident occurred in the Kharkiv region, where a man’s body was recovered from the Rohanka River.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

In Transcarpathia, in the village of Bohdan, a woman’s body was recovered from the Bila Tisa River. A woman’s body was also recovered from a pond in the village of Halchyn in the Zhytomyr region.

In total, 49 people, including three children, have died in Ukrainian water bodies since the beginning of May.

“With the start of the swimming season, we urge you to be extremely careful! Do not ignore safety rules, choose only verified places for recreation, and keep a close eye on children. Take care of yourselves!” the rescuers emphasized.

The State Emergency Service stated that the unit destroyed near Kyiv was performing only humanitarianfunctions.

Over the past week, State Emergency Service units across Ukraine rescued 52 people, responded to nearly 5,500 calls, and extinguished 955 fires, 295 of which occurred in natural ecosystems.

On the night of May 24, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Kyiv region, using strike drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The shelling resulted in civilian casualties and damage across all districts of the region.

On May 23, Russian troops launched a second strike on Balakliya in the Kharkiv region. The attack damaged the “Light of the Gospel” church building, an apartment building, and private residential structures. The shelling sparked a fire that destroyed the church building.
