Purchases of mines and ammunition for drones have surged — Fedorov
In the first three months of 2026, the volume of purchases of engineering mines and ammunition for UAVs exceeded half of the total volume supplied in 2025.
This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
According to him, procurement is being systematically scaled up with the participation of the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Procurement Agency, which allows for faster provision of necessary weapons to units on the front lines.
Engineering mines effectively destroy enemy equipment and force it to move under conditions favorable to Ukrainian forces, while drone munitions allow for precision strikes against infantry and light equipment without the use of expensive shells.
Purchases of FPV drones, reconnaissance and strike drones, as well as related munitions, have also been significantly increased.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the key task remains accelerating deliveries and improving the efficiency of the procurement system, as the situation on the front lines and the lives of soldiers directly depend on this.
The Ministry of Defense has denied rumors of a “new phase” of mobilization starting April 1.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine conducted tests of 18 new-generation unmanned bomber designs, as announced by Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on March 30.
