There were no plans for an assassination attempt on Kolomoyskyi — Goncharenko
People's Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko stated that there were no plans to assassinate Igor Kolomoyskyi, the former owner of PrivatBank.
According to him, this is evident from the responses of the Security Service of Ukraine’s (SBU) Main Investigative Directorate and the National Police to inquiries regarding a possible assassination attempt.
Goncharenko claims that the agencies were essentially passing the buck to one another. The SBU reported that it had forwarded the case materials to the National Police, while the police stated that they had forwarded information about a possible assassination attempt to the SBU.

At the same time, the Main Investigative Directorate of the National Police reported that no pretrial investigation into the alleged assassination attempt is underway.
On this basis, Goncharenko concluded that there was no planning of an assassination attempt on Kolomoyskyi.

The Court of Appeal of England and Wales upheld the ruling to recover more than $3 billion from the former owners of PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoyskyi and Hennadiy Boholyubov. This involves compensation for damages, interest, and legal costs, which were previously determined by the High Court of England and Wales.
On June 24, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv denied a motion by Ihor Kolomoyskyi’s defense team to change the order in which evidence would be examined in the 2003 attempted murder case. The victim in the case, Karpenko, testified for the first time during the court proceedings.
