Ukrainian teachers can expect another pay raise in September 2026. This will be the second phase of pay increases following the January adjustment.
This was announced by Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi.
According to the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, despite the war, the government continues to work on improving teachers’ pay. Currently, nearly 400,000 teachers in Ukraine are educating more than 3.7 million children.
In addition to their base salary, teachers may receive additional allowances. In particular, certification entitles them to a 20% bonus on top of their base salary for three years. Payments are also provided for professional titles, inclusive education, grading assignments, supervising classrooms, and other additional duties.
Heads of general secondary education institutions must update teacher data in the “Automated Information Complex for Educational Management” (AIKOM) so that deferrals from military conscription continue automatically.
