The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has fully granted the lawsuit filed by Marina Khonda, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, seeking to protect her honor, dignity, and professional reputation. The court ordered the founder of the website and the company that owns the Telegram channel to publish an official retraction of the false information about the official.
This was reported with reference to a statement by the official’s lawyers.
The court found the information disseminated in March 2025 on a popular Ukrainian Telegram channel with over a million subscribers to be false and ordered the defendants to publish an official retraction. In the aforementioned posts, Marina Khonda was effectively accused of organizing a corruption scheme involving the alleged embezzlement of 60 million hryvnias from the capital’s budget.
During the court hearings, the founder of the Telegram channel denied disseminating this information and attempted to refute his involvement in owning these resources. Instead, the court, based on numerous interviews with the defendant in which he publicly confirmed ownership of the network of Telegram channels, as well as on information from the Unified State Register, recognized him and the company that owns the Telegram channel as proper defendants in the case.
Now, according to the court’s decision, the founder of the resource and the company that owns the Telegram channel are required to publish an official retraction of the false information regarding Maryna Khonda on their public page.
Law enforcement agencies in the capital have also dismantled two corruption schemes, the organizers of which promised men of draft age that they could avoid mobilization through official deferments.
In the spring, the number of passengers carrying young trees and shrubs on the capital’s metro traditionally increases, especially at the “Lisova” station.
