Zelenskyy Discussed the Priorities of the EU Presidency with Ireland

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Helen McEntee, Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Defense.

Zelenskyy announced this.

The parties discussed the priorities of Ireland’s EU presidency in the second half of the year and the issue of opening negotiation clusters for Ukraine.

The President emphasized that it is important for the mechanism for opening clusters for countries that fulfill their obligations to actually work.

Zelenskyy also briefed on the results of his visits to Middle Eastern countries and the security system proposed by Ukraine.

Ukraine is ready to cooperate with European partners in the same format—both bilaterally and within the SAFE program.

Zelenskyy thanked Ireland for its military, humanitarian, and energy support, as well as for its participation in the Bucha Summit.

Russia’s war against Ukraine could drag on for at least another year or two due to the lack of a breakthrough both on the front lines and in diplomatic negotiations.

The Kremlin is demanding that Kyiv make a decision as soon as possible to withdraw Ukrainian troops from the Donbas region.
