Zelensky confirms Ukraine will work with the US on Witkoff’s peace plan
During a meeting with a delegation of American military officials, President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to work on the points of the US-proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky announced this via Telegram:
“Today, during a meeting with US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, we discussed options for achieving genuine peace, the stages of work, formats for dialogue, and new impetus for diplomacy. Our teams – Ukraine and the US – will work on the points of the plan to end the war. We are ready for constructive, honest, and efficient work,” the president wrote.
He added that he appreciates the efforts of President Trump and his team to restore security in Europe.
Earlier, Axios reported that Zelensky had agreed to negotiate Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine, despite its “shocking details.” The US also assured that the plan could still be amended and would be coordinated with the EU.
US President Donald Trump has been informed of the detailed plan, which is being developed by his special envoy Steve Witkoff, and fully supports it, said Trump administration spokesperson Caroline Levitt.
