Zelenskyy spoke with Starmer following the easing of British sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The main topic of the leaders’ talks was coordinating further steps on the international stage to counter Russian aggression.
The conversation took place amid reports that the British government had decided to ease sanctions on diesel and aviation fuel produced from Russian crude oil.
During the dialogue, the head of state expressed his deep gratitude to the British government and the entire British people for the extensive and comprehensive support that the United Kingdom has continuously provided to Ukraine since the very beginning of the full-scale conflict.
The parties analyzed the current situation in detail and agreed on a joint strategy for the coming period.
“We have coordinated our positions on the diplomatic track regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine—we are striving to intensify substantive diplomacy. We have agreed on future contacts,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized on his social media accounts.
