Zelenskyy held a meeting on the defense of the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a meeting to discuss the situation on the front lines. Particular attention was paid to the Kharkiv region, specifically the Kupiansk sector, as well as the combat situation in the Donetsk region and the Zaporizhzhia sector.
The head of state reported this on Telegram.
“A detailed meeting regarding our defense. I am grateful to all units that are firmly holding their positions on key sectors of the front and actively defending themselves. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov reported on the situation and options for our actions in the Kharkiv region—primarily the Kupiansk direction, as well as in the Donetsk region, the Zaporizhzhia direction, and generally in southern Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
He specifically commended the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Tavriya Brigade, the 1st Assault Regiment, and the 425th Separate Assault Regiment for the results they have achieved.
The President reported that during the meeting, there was also a briefing on the application of “long-range sanctions”—specifically, regarding Russian oil industry facilities located in Tuapse and other Russian regions.
Zelenskyysent a letter to Trump requesting Patriot missiles.
Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that the version of the SAMP/T air defense missile system currently in use in Ukraine has not yet been deployed to intercept ballistic targets.
Patriot air defense systems can shoot down submunitions from the Russian “Oreshnik” missile, stated military expert Maksym Narozhny.
