Ukrposhta will change its parcel delivery procedure

The national postal operator, Ukrposhta, has launched a new service allowing customers to pick up their packages without waiting in the general line, thanks to the installation of special pickup stations inside its branches.

Ukrposhta announced this in an official press release, noting that some parcels will now be automatically routed for pickup via this self-service system. Upon arrival of the shipment, the customer will receive an SMS with an access code, which can be used to open their designated compartment and retrieve the parcel without needing to interact with company staff.

The hybrid mini-parcel lockers are located directly in the lobbies and are available only during the post office branches’ regular business hours. At the same time, the traditional service format via staff members remains fully available to anyone who wishes to use it. According to the company’s CEO, Igor Smiliansky, the implementation of this system will effectively separate customer flows, distinguishing parcel recipients from those customers who come for financial services, international money transfers, or utility bill payments.

In the initial phase of this large-scale project, the new self-service system will be launched in 400 branches across the country, primarily in cities with populations over one million and regional centers. In the capital and the Kyiv region, the pilot phase has already begun—there, specialists have installed and launched the first 120 express pickup kiosks.

As a reminder, Ukrposhta has fully automated the sorting of parcels and letters.

Ukrposhta disclosed the salaries of Supervisory Board members following a complaint by journalists to the ombudsman.

Ukrposhta has been designated a military infrastructure facility with 100% protection.
