Zelenskyy talked about how he tries to cope with stress during the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about how he is trying to carry out his duties during the war and what is important to him after his presidential term ends. 

According to the head of state, he wants to live in such a way that, once the war ends and his term as president is over, he’ll be able to stay in Ukraine peacefully and walk its streets.

“I don’t know. I’m not sure I’m really handling it well. No, what I mean is that we’re trying to do our job so that… It’s not even about people respecting you.

It’s about being able to continue living in your country after the war, after your term as president ends, to walk its streets, and for no one to want to kill you or hate you,” he replied.

The president emphasized that for him, it’s not just about people’s attitudes or respect for a political figure. He also noted that it’s important to remain human and act in accordance with one’s own principles.

“And so that it’s not because you were, excuse me, a piece of [censored]—not a leader and not a human being. I mean, that’s exactly what you’re doing. The way you live and the way you try to live,” Zelenskyy added.

According to the president, he tries to live for the sake of the good people around him.

“I hope there are many good people around us. I hope so,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, answering a question about how he copes with stress during the war.

As a reminder, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is insisting on three urgent steps as part of efforts to de-escalate Russia’s war against Ukraine and restore diplomatic ties with Moscow.

Russia has claimed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly did not refuse to hold talks in Moscow. Earlier, the Ukrainian president gave a “blunt” response to a question about a possible visit to the Russian capital.
